Stainless Steel Sheet 304, or plate, is often used in environments that are subject to water and moisture, and where cleanliness and hygiene are important.
One of the most common areas in which Stainless Steel sheet 304 is used is in commercial kitchens for storage cupboards and shelves, to cover worksurfaces and counter tops, and applied to walls as a splashback. Cooker hobs are also made from Stainless Steel Sheet 304.
Stainless Steel Sheet 304 is also used to make water storage tanks, silos to store grain, and transportation tankers.
Our stocks of Stainless Steel Sheet 304 are available in 304, 316, and 430 grades in a choice of dull polished finish which has a smooth, clean, non-reflective surface, commonly used in commercial kitchens and as splashbacks.
metals 4U also supply bright-polished stainless steel sheet 304 in the form of our unbreakable mirror product which is a bright-polished sheet of Stainless Steel Sheet 304 made from grade 430.
All our Stainless-Steel Sheet 304 metal is supplied with a protective film to the finished side, which can easily be peeled off after installation or fabrication. The reverse side is supplied unfinished.
Stainless Steel Sheet 304 is a T 300 series Stainless Steel austenitic. It has a minimum of 18% chromium and 8% nickel, combined with a maximum of 0.08% carbon. It is defined as a Chromium-Nickel austenitic alloy. Grade 304 is the standard "18/8" stainless that you will probably see in your pans and cookery tools.Typical applications include tanks and containers for a large variety of liquids and solids:

Although both Stainless Steel Sheet A240 and 304L stainless steel Sheet have similar chemical properties, there are a few noticeable differences. To begin, 304 Stainless Steel Sheet is comprised of at most 0.08% carbon. Stainless Steel Sheet also includes at most 2.0% manganese and 0.75% silicon. it also contains no more than 0.045% phosphorous, 0.03% sulfur and between 18.0% and 20% chromium. Stainless Steel Sheet also is made of between 8.0% and 10.5% nickel and at most 0.10% nitrogen. There are some key differences between Stainless Steel Sheet A240 and 304L Stainless Steel Sheet. One of these key characteristics is the amount of carbon. stainless steel Sheet A240 is comprised of no more than 0.08% carbon while 304L stainless steel Sheet contains a maximum of 0.03% carbon. The other main difference in chemical composition between these two stainless steel plates grades is the amount of nickel. 304L Stainless Steel Sheet can have a maximum of 12.0% nickel while stainless Steel Sheet A240 can only contain up to 10.5%. These are the main differences between the two stainless steel plates. They both contain the same amount of manganese, silicon, phosphorus, sulfur, and nitrogen.

Stainless Steel Sheet 309 is a highly alloyed austenitic steel used for its outstanding oxidation resistance, high-temperature strength and creep resistance. The lower nickel content of Stainless Steel Sheet 309 Plates improves resistance to sulfur attack at high temperatures. Stainless Steel Sheet 309 Sheets are tough and ductile and can be readily fabricated and machined. Stainless Steel Sheet 309 Sheets and Plates has high corrosion resistance and strength compared to 304 stainless steel. Stainless Steel UNS S30900 Plates is hot worked at 1177 degrees C (2150 degrees F) followed by reheating at 982 degrees C (1800 degrees F). It can be then quenched rapidly. Post-work annealing can be done to restore its corrosion resistance property.
Stainless Steel Sheet 309 Sheets and Plate is the lower carbon version of grade Stainless Steel Sheet 309 provides high forming and welding characteristics. These Stainless Steel Sheet 309 Plates can easily bewelded using any resistance and fusion methods.

The high corrosion resistance properties of 317L stainless steel make it suitable for highly corrosive acidic chloride environments such as in pulp and paper mills.
Although 317L stainless steel has the same high strength and corrosion resistance as 317 steel, it produces stronger welds due to its low carbon content.
317L stainless steels are manufactured in various shapes such as round bar, plate, sheet and pipe.
